Every year a good handful of leave Boyd H. Anderson High School and go to an alternative school or they go to a secluded part of the school where they complete whatever they have to in order to graduate and walk across that stage. It’s a shame because these students don’t get to participate in Senior activities and finish the year off with a bang. But the real problem is, how they ended up in this predicament. Are they a foreign student who’s trying to figure everything out or are they a disrespectful student with no charisma. Whatever it is, it’s an epidemic that happens every year and it looks like no one is here to stop it.
In the beginning of the year we started of strong with almost five-hundred seniors. A few weeks later it decreased to four-hundred and nine. Recently it’s three-hundred and seventy. Half of these students didn’t leave due to their academics but due to the fact they no longer wanted to attend Boyd H. Anderson High School. But for the children who leave for the academics, do they leave because they don’t understand the material? Or are they just Lazy? Anyways, administration should tell the student beforehand that they’re failing and what they should do to prevent not walking across the stage.
